Iberian Lawyer magazine interviews Isaac Millán, managing partner of the Madrid office. He joined CECA MAGÁN Abogados in June 2023 and his case is unusual: that of an in-house corporate lawyer who makes the leap to a law firm.
In this interview, Isaac talks about the firm's strategy: "to consolidate the growth of the firm and establish ourselves as a great business law firm with great legal quality. We do not want to grow at any price, but we do have a healthy ambition to occupy a larger space in the framework of business law".
His experience as an in-house lawyer adds value to the vision of services and how to offer them. On this, Isaac comments: "I understand very well what the company needs. When you are part of in-house counsel, you are continuously "putting yourself in the shoes" of different business areas, which gives you a very good insight into the needs of the company."
As for the challenges that arise in this change, our partner answers in his interview: "the change comes more in fitting in with the culture of the firm; with its policies, its automatisms... for me that is the challenge. But, whether it is a company or a firm, the challenge is to fit in with the new organization".
Before joining CECA MAGÁN Abogados, Isaac Millán spent 13 years as head of the legal department of Quirónsalud.
