Victoria Alonso, a lawyer in the commercial area, publishes a new article in the Revista VPC, on the application of the new waste and packaging regulations in the cosmetics sector. It analyzes the policies that are already mandatory for companies.
Our commercial lawyer comments on the measures that must be applied as a priority according to the Royal Decree on Packaging: "prevention of the production of packaging waste; reuse of packaging, recycling and other forms of recovery of packaging waste; and reduction of the final disposal of such waste, including the presence of packaging waste in scattered waste".
Another point she adds is that of eco-design "as a criterion for the modulation of the financial contribution to the collective systems of extended producer responsibility, establishing economic consequences depending on the application of certain eco-design criteria, by means of (positive) bonuses and (negative) penalties". Our expert adds that "the guide published by the National Association of Perfumery and Cosmetics (STANPA) in collaboration with Ecovidrio, in which they formulate, as a guide, more than 50 recommendations aimed at optimizing the eco-design of packaging for perfumery and cosmetics products, is of particular interest to the perfume and cosmetics sector".
